Care home garden project
In March, we had a team of green-fingered gardeners working hard to bring our magnificent gardens back to life.
In recent years the gardens have fallen into disrepair and become overgrown with many trees in poor condition. With the help of the Gray's Trust, we have received support to help transform our wonderful gardens back to their former glory.
The gardens that surround the care home have now be cleared and tidied. New plants have been added to the borders and we await the bulbs we planted end of last year to spring into bloom. We have also fitted climbers/crawlers on the trellises and the new bubbling fountain gives the impression of a Japanese garden in the middle of an English garden.
The gardens provide lots of enjoyment for our residents with views of interest from their bedroom windows or as an outdoor space to enjoy and share with family and other residents. We can’t wait to see the garden in full bloom and the residents enjoying them as the weather improves.
The work doesn’t end here though. We need to make sure the stunning gardens are maintained. There are further opportunities for people to get involved in a volunteering day at the end of April, so keep your eyes peeled and come along and be a part of this rewarding and timeless garden project.
